Marzipan is very easy to colour

Colouring marzipan

  1. Ingredients: Marzipan paste, finely sieved icing sugar, Brauns-Heitmann food colouring, a little water.

  1. Mix 1 tsp of icing sugar with ½ tsp of water.
    Add some food colouring to this mixture to get the desired colour depth.

If the mixture is still quite sticky, knead in some icing sugar if necessary.

Now the coloured marzipan can be pressed out, shaped, or rolled out as a marzipan cover.

Tip:

Marzipan is easier to roll when you put it in a freezer bag that is cut open. Use a toothpick to press in or carve out fine patterns.
